a christmassy weekend!

We had a lovely lounging morning finally dragging ourselve into our clothes finally in order to head for mum's in time for lunch so that John could be rid of me for the afternoon and evening. I wasn't upset as I was off out of the evening with mum Dad and Kris to see Steeleye Span on their 40th anniversary tour. Given the weather, and the tickets weren't for assigned seats, we decided to head down early (after Kris finished Nates stocking and I managed to tear myself away from the puzzle) but luckily traffic was kind to us and so we were down there with enough time to ice skate round the cornor to the pizza express and throw insults at each other over ceasar salad and pizza. We then slid back round in time to get front row seats that couldn't have been better. Kristy even managed to find their winter songs album - perfection. And what can I say about their performance? AMAZING! Maddy Prior was just amazing, the music was amazing, the view was amazing, did I mention that they were amazing? It was just un-ba-bleeding-elievable! We last saw them around 16 years ago and, though maddy wasn't quite as energetic was she had been the music was just as great ( amazing in fact). Always a good sign, we sang all the way home....

Next morning I took the opportunity to sleep in and them hoped into bed with Mum while Dad got us all breakfast. We all giggled through our porridge and cooked brekkie particularily when it came to revelations about how Dad was to top up his pension next year.

We had to then head back to ours as John had some kids game to watch at the pub so Kris gave Nate his baeutiful stocking...

We then headed to the Royal Foresters for a very nice ginormous meal which Nate then spread around a 5 foot radius. Once we had gorged we still had time before John was done so went to a garden center and Kris refused to pop the monster down all the way round - even when he squirmed about in her arms desperately trying to get a hug from a ginourmous toy polar bear. All in all it was a very christmassy and lovely weekend...

Next day it snowed again and Nate realised that the best place to watch it was under his bouncer and, when the flakes were particularly large to pat the window wit his hand in excitement (also to hide the fact that he was stealing the jelly stickers fropm the window and eating bits of them)....

I then made the mistake of putting the tv on to set the v+ to record something and the besotted one then proceeded to smear his fingers all over it so was popped in his bouncer to watch the snow some more.
